Long Weekend

We were here:

For Andrew (on the left facing away--and blurry) to be honored.

I didn't pull out the camera during the wonderful luncheon after. However, it was quite a spread (Texas style). The dean and his wife were gracious hosts to the three honorees and their spouses. No one mentioned the fact that I looked a tad waterlogged having been caught in a downpour on the way to the luncheon. And, I dried out none the worse for (wash) and wear.

We were on our own for dinner. Hmmm, armadillo at Wendy's?????

We chose this!

And now I'm off to "pack" for our Mitford trip coming up next.

  2. The more you get to know me, the more you you'll come to know about my QUESTIONS! Most others are used to it by now. Who is Andrew and why is he being honored? Is it your husband? The armadillo fascinates me, and I love the whimsy. But he has horns?? And it looks like his eyes light up? What a great picture! Well, you can eat at a Wendy's any time they are so common, but in Texas you must have the barbeque!! I'm not too much for barbeque, but that plate would make me change my mind, yummy looking!!

  4. Well, that armidillo still cracks me up, of course I would have been snapping away at it, too! I kind of figured it had horns just because it's in Texas. About the giant turkey. It is on Rt. 11, in between Staunton and Harrisonburg, but closer to Staunton. It is at the Rockingham County line. Maybe you only went to the Book Fair on Rt. 81, as most do. We try to avoid 81 at all costs because of all the semis and accidents, even though 11 takes a bit longer. But it's not very much longer, and you get lovely scenery, as well. You must be so proud of your husband, can't believe he didn't even tell YOU, he must be like my Phil, very laid back, quiet, and not self serving.

  5. Hi Trish, Congrats to Andrew for his graduation from the U of H.... You were in my old stomping grounds since I lived near Houston for 12 yrs.

Your BBQ lunch looked wonderful... Texas does it the RIGHT way... AND --their Mexican food is SO much better than ours.

    Hugs,
    Betsy
