The Shower

Could anything have made lunch at the farm more special? Yes! A sweet puppy shower for Oliver. When the ladies arrived, gifts in hand, I was genuinely surprised--and thrilled!!

This card says it so eloquently. Oliver's heart seems to be feeling safer each day.

There was a big floppy cardinal, special puppy tennis balls in red, yellow and blue, a very special big bone filled with a delicious "marrow" and lots of treats. I wish I'd gotten a shot of Oliver running over and putting his nose in the bags when I got home.

He's toted his big bone upstairs and downstairs and is thoroughly enjoying it. He's rolled his balls under the table, retrieved them and played keep away with Andrew. Oliver has consistently won.

Here's a non-action shot of one happily exhausted Oliver!

  14. Thank you so much for visiting Applejack Lane and identifying my "blueweed" as chicory. I even looked it up after you named it. I grew up on a farm and all I ever heard was "blueweed".
Oliver looks adorable, and a puppy shower sounds fun.
    Please visit again.

  15. Lucky dog, lucky dog! Thank you for stopping by my blog, I like yours too! I think Houston will be getting the rain a lot but no winds, they should be fine. Houston is my hometown and I miss it alot (especially the restaurants). Our son is at Rice University, but I still don't feel like I get to visit enough. I will be following your blog as well, looks like fun! Happy 4th of July! ~Leslie

  17. Alright...I'm now truly envious. For the number of baby showers I've gone to...not once did someone ever think of doing something this nice for my Puppy.
Therefore...for dear Oliver and yourself...I'm thrilled for you to have such thoughful friends.
Have a nice 4th of July event too.
