Now Taking Special Requests

I don't often take special requests where my blog is concerned.  I think it's because I've never received one.  However, when this one came in from a far away state I just couldn't refuse.

No, the request wasn't in regard to this salad that we had for lunch.  It was a very good salad utilizing the remainder of Saturday's heirloom and cherry tomatoes, green onions, fresh mozzarella, a few tablespoons of pesto, homemade croutons and a simple balsamic and olive oil dressing.

It was for a photo of this visitor ~

Enjoying the salad.

Here he is Elyssa!!

We all earned our lunch after a morning of intense camera shopping.  I've narrowed my purchase down to either a Canon EOS Rebel T2 or the Nikon D5000 after spending over an hour with both.  Alas, I had narrowed it down to those two BEFORE I went shopping.  I ended up purchasing "The Ultimate Guide to Digital Photography" to help me narrow down my choices to......probably the same two choices!!!!!  Many of you have given me input on the camera purchase.  Please don't hesitate to jump in once more with suggestions.  I appreciate them all.

  8. I don't think you could go wrong with either one, however, I recently received the Nikon D5000 for a Mother's Day gift. I blogged about it on May 14 of this year if you would like to read about it. Good luck with your decision. Carla

  9. I've heard the Rebel is an awesome camera. That being said, I fell in love with Nikon in high school and it's a dream of mine to own one someday.....good luck with your choices :)

  10. Have fun camera shopping! I'm sure either camera would be fantastic. We're a Nikon family here, but I've heard lots of good things about the Canon too. Enjoy your visit with your son!

  14. Who is this, your son? What cute pictures!! I have heard that Nikon is a bit better than Canon, my DIL has Nikon and so do I, we love them. But you probably can't go wrong with either! A great dilema to have!

  15. What a nice looking salad and SON, Bonnie.... Thanks for the picture!!!

George and I love our Canon Rebels --and we chose these because Canon is a little cheaper than Nikon. If money is no issue, then you may want the Nikon.. But--I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

We got ours in a Bundle situation --which helped financially also. We got extra lenses, a nice bag, battery, etc. with ours... We love them!!!!

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  16. I can't wait to see which camera you choose! And to hear your review of it. I'm in the market for a new camera and I fully intend on picking your brain once you buy one. Just a warning. :P

  19. Oh, camera shopping can be stressful! We went lat week and it was overwhelming to say the least. I do have to suggest that you check out the Olympus E620. It's a great little camera and you get more camera for the money than you do with a canon or nikon. Those are GREAT cameras but you're also paying for the name. With the Olympus you get just as much camera though not the video as pect of it for much less. Just a little bit I learned. I still haven't settled on one though.
