A Contest Revisited

Remember back in late summer when I did several posts about Fresh Express Artisan Salads?  I had been contacted by the company to try their new product (which I loved and am still purchasing) and offer a prize to one of you who submitted a recipe.

Even though many of you tried the salads and loved them, no one submitted a recipe.  When the company contacted me for a winner, I told them this.  However, they were kind enough to send me the gift card to allocate to a winner.  I have a $25 American Express gift card in hand.  I think the fairest way to do this is to have you tell me how you've enjoyed Fresh Express or how you might enjoy it during the holidays.  I'll select a random winner on Friday, December 3.

  1. I must say that it hasn't been for lack of trying! I haven't seen them anywhere! Not in Martin's or Kroger. We tend to get new things really late here! And I mean late, way after the coupons have come out. Now if you go to Charlottesville, they get new things sooner than us. I still check when I'm in the salad aisle, though.

  3. Hello there....I must of now been a follower when you asked for a recipe...I use these salads all the time.

Ok...here is what I like the best Fresh express salad and diced up fresh pears, goat cheese with cranberries and candied pecans..add your favorite dressing. I like a pepper Asiago dressing I get at Whole Foods...but Ranch works just as well....there you have it.,

    Enjoy!

  4. I don't remember reading about this contest, but I actually have a recipe, of sorts, on how I use the Fresh Express baby spinach. I usually put the fresh spinach into a bowl, add candied pecans or walnuts, crumbled feta cheese, dried cherries or cranberries, croutons and a generous helping of raspberry vinaigrette that is not too sweet.

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  5. I guess I must have missed that post. I love Fresh Express. My favorite way to use it is to blacken chicken with Paul Prudomme's Poultry seasoning. I put the chicken pieces on top of the salad. In my salad I also include a few nuts, tomatoes, mandarin oranges, pineapple chunks, green onions, and actually whatever you like in a salad. It is wonderful!

  7. My favorite salad is spring mix with feta, strawberries, thinly sliced red onions and candied pecans. A bit of grilled chicken makes it a meal! Poppyseed dressing is perfect with it. :) Great giveaway!

  8. I can't ever find the new mix of Fresh Express salads, however, I always enjoy the baby spinach with pine nuts, parm, olive oil, salt and pepper. Yummy! Carla

  9. I love these quick salads in a bag! I often jazz them up a bit more with whatever fresh produce I have on hand, and other times, nothing more is needed! As much as I love to cook, I also love convenience too!

  10. Looks like we all like a little fruit, a few nuts and a sprinkling of cheese along with our favorite dressings... LOL! I do love a good salad. ;)

Yes, it may have been the very same library. I loved visiting there.

  11. Must be honest and say I'm not familiar with their products. Have I just not looked for the name? I'll check when next I'm at the store.

I LOVE your basket of colorful ornaments!

  12. I see Fresh Express here but not the Artisan series yet ... but it will be here eventually I assume. I like to keep a bag of fresh spinach on hand to use in soups, my eggs in the morning, salads, quiches, and anywhere else a (healthy) touch of green will add to the visual of what I am making. "Purposed beauty" you could say.

  13. I would enjoy Fresh Express with some lovely roasted squash and chicken. The fresh lettuce is perfect for winter salads.

  14. We cant find them here in our store. We use the organic baby spring mix which seems to have what fresh express does.

I have a dressing I like to make that starts with a cup of mayo then mix in some balsamic vinegar to taste about a teaspoon, a tad of sugar and a teaspoon or more of Bores Head brown mustard. Place some of the baby spring mix greens into a dish, sprinkle some currants and toasted almond slices on the greens then pour some dressing over it.

    Yum

  16. There were all kind of tours including a Paula Deen one. I'm not sure but I think I did see a Midnight of Good and Evil Tour -- our tour did point out the club where Lady Chablis still entertains when "she" is in town!
