Breakfast is my favorite meal. I cannot start a day without breaking my fast! First a cup of strong, freshly brewed coffee and then food and more coffee. I'm an early riser and, in addition to reading the Chicago Tribune up close and personal, I read the op eds and a few other journalists in the Washington Post and the NY Times online at day break. I peruse the food sections on Wednesdays and clip or bookmark recipes. Then I catch up on my favorite blogs and compose my own. And I usually breakfast while doing all of the above most mornings except Sundays.
A SIMPLE BREAKFAST SANDWICH
2 slices of whole grain baguette
A thin slather of cream cheese
2 pieces of wild caught smoked sockeye salmon
A small green zebra heirloom tomato
2 to 3 cups of real coffee lightened with real half and half
