Wandering Wednesday/Chicken Picadillo w/Chili Lime Sauce

I used to pull out several cookbooks each Thursday and plan our meals.  I still do that but, as often as not, my inspiration comes from my blogging community.  Mary, over at One Perfect Bite has been responsible for a number of new dishes on our table.  I consider her my 365-day-a-year inspiration.

When I found this recipe for Chicken Picadillo with Chili Lime Sauce, I knew it had to spice up our table.  Even though I've had a crock pot for years, I've rarely used it.  Recently, I've seen a number of delicious looking recipes that utilize the slow cooking method and am slowly become a slow cooker fan.

The flavors of this dish wafted through the house for hours, teasing us with the good taste to come.  I even did the tortilla "bowls".   In fact, I didn't change a thing in this recipe so click on the link and head over to Mary's.  If this is your first visit, don't go hungry!!

  1. This does sound good! I've never been a big fan of the CP, but I made a Fruity Pulled Chicken on Sunday that was very good! I might give this one a try too:@)

  3. Geez Bonnie...knowing that you rarely use your crock-pot is not exactly inspiring me on my continued search for just the right one for my kitchen. LOL

This is not only a lovely recipe that Mary has come up with...but don't forget to pat yourself on the back for doing her proud also ;o) Looks incredibly appetizing.

Have a great day and flavourful wishes, Claudia

  5. Looks wonderful . . . love those little cups. I'm a slow-cooker fan, though, for a number of things, especialy for pork or beef sandwiches. I'd like to try this, too. The chili Lime Sauce is a great addition.

  26. looks great but what is the 2 chipotle peppers in adobo? I did a recipe that called for this this past week , but didn't use it. I figured it would probably be extra spicy and my Rosacea (sp?) gets flared up if I eat too many spicy things.
