HOORAH!!!!!

Blog break activity #2:  I started to build a new library!!!!!  While only symbolic, it was a joy to scoop out that first shovel full of dirt.

It was a beautiful sun-filled afternoon for the groundbreaking ceremony.  The city turned out to witness the beginning of their new library.  Cameras clicked away.  After a few short speeches, we all sipped on lemonade and nibbled on cookies while talking about what the new library will mean to the city.

Yes, those are real hard hats.  They are engraved with the names of the trustees and will be kept on a shelf in the construction trailer.  We will don them when we want a tour of the site.  For now, I drive by every chance I get!

Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. Bonnie,

This daughter of a librarian thinks this is wonderful! I use my Kindle for most of my reading but still love a library and I still support my library.

And no. June could be added because of the weather. LOL

  9. Love to see libraries continue to grow. They are so important to a community. The local library has always been one of the first places I've search for when we have relocated. Congratulations! Hugs! Bonnie

  12. Such exciting news especially at a time when budget cuts cross the country are chipping away at some library systems. Congrats.

  13. I LOVE the public library, and I did a post about ours right before going on vacation. It's too bad more people don't take advantage of the library system.

Hope all is well. I'm home from vacation and settling back into a routine.

    Hugs,
    Patti
