Irene

Irene, meaning peace, is misnamed.  I'm sure that whoever is responsible for naming hurricanes never gave it a second thought.

Our precious son and daughter-in-law, along with her extended family, are in an area of Irene's path.  I hope and pray that they are safe.  I know that many of you, along with loved ones, are also in the path.  I hope and pray that all of you are safe.

Take good care and keep in touch as you are able.

Best,
Bonnie

  1. Been praying, too. Reading so many blog posts about Irene . . . gives a more realistic face to it. Your son lives a long way from you, Bonnie.

    Fondly,

  2. I have been praying for the ones in the path. Phil's brother has cancer and is in the hospital in the path of the storm, it should be hitting right now. They made the visitors leave and shut it down, so his wife cannot even be with him. They are helpless and apart. We really are so powerless, and these things remind us of it. How far away do they live? Please continue to let us know... Mother Earth is really acting up this month!

  14. The storm came through here in VA last night, leaving us without power for about 18 hours. (We're better off than many!) Lots of rain and wind, trees down, and many power outages in the area still. I hope your family is safe!

  15. Hi Bonnie, I hope your family fared well. We were fortunate in our area of MA, Irene had been downgraded to a tropical storm. Our damage was minimal compared to other parts of MA. We had tons of rain and lots of wind!

  16. Hi Bonnie, I hope your son and his family are all safe and fared ok from Irene. I know its hard to be apart. We lost power for about 15 hours but feel fortunate it wasn't longer than that. A lot of our friends are still without power and are looking at several days to a week. Lots of downed trees and power lines too in the area but we feel blessed that its come and gone. I'll be praying for your family!
