The Party!

January 19, 2012
held a promise of snow.
Would the party happen?
The guests were scattered
and in the snow's path.

Hopeful,
I prepared the table.

They made it!
Each birthday lady found a flowered bag
on the back of her chair
in which
to tote her party gifts home.

Flavorful Favors

Herb and Three Cheese Quiche
and
Citrus Terrine

The delicious disaster of a birthday cake.
(recipe and explanation to follow)

I'm so very grateful for my dear friends.
They warm my heart and soul.

so happy they got there through the snow, but even if they had not you could have just sat and stared at your beautiful table and enjoyed it and shared it with US.

It looks wonderful. You are gathering your friends to celebrate your birthday, right? I think that's a wonderful plan! Glad they could make it. And now it sounds like you are really getting a storm there. We are getting a little bit of sympathy drizzle.

Your party went better than mine. I had to plan the county Farm Bureau's Holiday dinner and meeting. I started with a count of 40 before I left for Hawaii, came home and on Wednesday, I had to knock the number down to 30. Friday night a grand total of ten showed up. The good part was we were all able to take home part of the wonderfully catered meal prepared for us. UGH!
