I was feeling a little guilty about not having a sweet for The Baker's Valentine treat.
It's cold outside. An inch of snow is predicted today. I wonder what that means since six inches was predicted for Saturday and we got one inch.
No matter, I didn't want to go out so I rummaged through the cupboard and came up with
Extra Fine Marzipan (5.29 ounces)
Ghirardelli Semi-sweet Chocolate
Fine sea salt
Sugar posies from Miette's
Marzipan and Chocolate Truffles inspired by my pantry
Cut the marzipan into 12 pieces and roll into balls
Melt the chocolate in the microwave (high about 2 1/2 minutes, stirring several times)
Dip the marzipan balls into the chocolate, lifT out with a fork and place on waxed paper
Top some with a dusting of the sea salt and, if you happen to have flowers, top some with the flowers
Let set up
Give them to your Valentine
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO ALL!!

ReplyDeleteSo inventive right from your pantry. That's the way I have to fly bein' out here smack in the middle of nowhere.
There's no runnin' into town for an item or two.
I remember once I amazed a group of girls the mornin' after a slumber party. The wanted pancakes and I had to syrup...so I made some. It was a homemade first for everyone but my kiddos.

You are very creative and I was really impressed that you have sugar posies in your pantry :-). I'm sorry to be so late, but I fighting flu, eye strain and the general winter blahs this week. What I laughingly call my schedule seems to have gone awry. I promise to do better next week. Have a wonderful evening. Blessings...Mary

ReplyDeleteHow simple and sweet. I have a hard time keeping Ghiradelli dark chocolate chips around the house. Some mouse around here seems to just eat them right out of the bag??!?!
