Yesterday, I passed a long row of Mother's Day cards while shopping. I wanted to stop and select the perfect one for my mother. Instead, I smiled and remembered how much she enjoyed shopping with me in the very store I was in at the time.
My sisters and I remember her in so many ways. When we return to Virginia in the fall, it isn't her grave we visit. We head to her favorite places, visit her favorite people and find joy and laughter in her memory.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL!!

my husband and i remember my mother by talking about the things we see when out and about. we say that is the mothers kitchen yellow or that is mothers dress pink, she loved those two colors and hubby will say your mother would LOVE that, and it is a whirly gig in home depot. and i will say mother would wire these flowers to her dead bush, because she did that once in the dead of winter. thanks for sharing your photos and memories. Happy Mothers day
ReplyDeleteThat is so touching :(. I am sure though your mom, wherever she is now, she is very proud of you :). Lots of love :).
ReplyDeleteoops, sorry, typing through tears falling here, what a lovely tribute, beautiful family,
ReplyDeleteA wonderful tribute to your mother. Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteYou look very much like your mother. I believe she would love you going to all her favorite places, moms only want us to be happy and not mourn, just to remember them in happy ways and the things they loved and that made them laugh. Mother's Day is not easy for either of us, and that is as it should be, it means we loved each other.
ReplyDeleteI'm typing this with tears in my eyes. Your mother is a beautiful soul. Thank you for the reminder to love and appreciate my mom while she's still alive.
