Lunch at the Farm

Wednesday was a beautiful day.
A perfect day for ladies to lunch at our friend's farm.

Since it was a bit chilly outside, Diana set the table on the sunporch.

This pretty candle and vase chandelier has dressed up the sunporch for a wedding,  several bridal showers and many luncheons.

Our children, now grown and in other parts of the country, enjoyed good times on this swing.  It seems to be waiting for them to return--perhaps with children of their own.
The red building in the background is a kitchen that has seen preparations for many gatherings through the years.  Beyond the kitchen is a field of corn (or soybeans?) just beginning to leaf out.

From the peony garden.

Lemonade in an antique turquoise pitcher, a vase of peonies and Jane.

This plate was so pretty I hated to put food on it.
That feeling was short lived as Diana brought out....

...hot rolls.

What else would you serve butter in on a corn farm?

Diana's delicious broccoli salad--even broccoli haters love it!

I'll be sharing the recipe for this tasty egg dish with you soon.

For now, I'm off to another luncheon.  I am, after all, recuperating still.
