Valentine Hot Dogs

I'm dining out for Valentine's Day.  Lunch, not dinner.  With two of my best friends, not The Baker.  The three of us are having hot dogs at Costco.  Yes, you read that correctly.  Hot dogs at Costco.  One of the friends is not a Costco shopper--yet.  The other friend and I are going to give her a shopping tutorial which includes lunch.  When this destination was suggested as our outing, I made them promise they'd join me for hot dogs.  I LOVE hot dogs and I have three a year.  In October.  With my sisters when we visit our hometown.  We each have two (they're small) at the Roanoke Weiner Stand.  Another day, we head to Costco for one.  It is tradition!

  1. I'm not a hotdog person, but a former neighbor used to feel the same way about Costco as you do. She thought it was one of the most fun lunches in the world just going there, sitting under their little umbrella tables and eating a hot dog.

My son loves hotdogs, but to him, the best ones in the world come from Fenway Park. He tells me that "until I've had a Fenway frank, I haven't had a hot dog." My response..."Well, then if I haven't had a hot dog, that's okay with me."

Enjoy the time with your friends!

  2. The only time I like hotdogs is when I'm camping or we have a campfire. On a rare occaision, we cook them in the fireplace room. Always with beer. Always. (not cook them in beer...DRINKING beer with them...)

  4. Can you please hand me one of those delicious heart cookies thru the screen, are they from Costco? Well, you know we are members! We only go about once a month because they are in Harrisonburg, so you know the route. We adore their hot dogs!!!! They are long, maybe a foot. And here is the thing. Up until about a year ago, they always sold Hebrew National. Then they switched to Kirkland. The snack bar also has this awesome turkey on ciabatta, and chicken Caesar salad.

  10. Their hot dogs are not bad. Working folks in our area queque at lunchtime to get the Costco dogs here in Eugene. They are a bargain and a boon to those who love them. Have a great week, Bonnie. Blessings...Mary

The little guy lives in Connecticut and he and his brother had a great day while their parents dug out - literally dug out - from the storm.

  11. Love those kinds of traditions. My MIL & FIL used to go to Costco (mostly to people watch) and would always split one of the polish sausages.

  12. We eat hot dogs but only on the open fire in the summer. I would be a Costco (and hot dog) fan if only one were closer. Love traditions.

  13. This made me laugh! What an outing for you and your friends! I haven't been in Costco in ages and I just may have to renew and check out the hot dogs. I like them now and then, either on the grill or at a ball game.

Kind of funny, I was talking about hot dogs yesterday to some friends and we were discussing whether any of us have ever had a "roller dog." None of us have and I doubt I will ever, but you never know.
