Actually, it isn't boxing day around here because we haven't opened Christmas presents yet. They are all still waiting under the tree. The stockings are still hung by the chimney with care. We decided to wait until we could all be together.
Adam arrives on Tuesday afternoon.
We'll have a special "eve" dinner.
Then we'll open presents, saving the stockings for Wednesday morning's treat.
Did I mention that Oliver helped immensely by picking up our tree?
I hope each and every one of you had a wonderful Christmas surrounded by those you love!!
I think waiting is a wonderful idea! You get to celebrate Christmas twice!
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful! I hope you all have a terrific time together!!!!

ReplyDeleteExcellent idea to "hold" Christmas until you're all together. All that extra anticipation will only make the actual celebration more special. Have a good one!

I love that you have delayed the festivities and hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you will have a fun celebration all together. And now that Christmas is over, you still have yours to look forward to! Gosh, I don't remember the Oliver story, I can't imagine what he did, am I having a senior moment? I've not been feeling well, so will us that as an excuse!! Now I really want to know about the tree and Oliver!
ReplyDeleteSo you are stretching out the fun --sounds good to me! It doesn't matter when...having family there is the key, if possible! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteGinny: Just commenting on the card that looks like Oliver is bringing a tree home on top of a Volkswagen. You are not losing it!!

Have a wonderful Christmas. I like the idea of celebrating when everyone is there. The kids arrive this weekend so I think my daughter would expext the traditional Eve dinner of cheese fondue:D
ReplyDeleteLOL! I'm lovin' the Oliver driving the VW with the tree card!! Too cute! I knew he was a really good helper! ;)
ReplyDeleteIt is not the date, but the family that makes Christmas special; I know you all will enjoy it to the fullest today!!
My Little Men are going to be trying to pack up all their loot and begin the trip home today... I'll be a little blue. So, I'll be thinking on how fun your day will be. blessings ~ tanna
We waited until Monday to finish up our celebration for that very same reason. I hope you have a wonderful time together Patty
ReplyDeleteOh, Bonnie, how fun that your family gets to extend the magic and beauty of Christmas a few more days. I think waiting until mid-week, when everyone is together, is the perfect thing to do.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!!

Patti
