Autumnal Equinox

"Delicious autumn!  My very soul is wedded to it and, if I were a bird, I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns."
George Eliot

The past few days have been crisply cool.  Shadows are longer.  Leaves are turning color and some skitter down from branches and dance about in the wind.  I love this season best of all I think.  I wish you all a beautiful and delicious autumn season.

  5. Oh yes, the deliciousness of Autumn, and all it brings! I do so love it. However, here it is still horribly hot! We have to take a drive an hour up the big hill to get to our local mountain community, Big Bear. We get our true Fall there!!!!

PS Sure wish you could be a Knitty Biddy too!!!

  10. While visiting Sharon Lovejoy's blog I noticed your little photo of the Burning Bush shrub and just had to check it out... And discovered one of my favorite quotes on arrival! Just planted a Burning Bush by our driveway sign - it will be protected from our harsh winters and bunnies and hope it will settle in and in time, be the vision that your lovely specimen is...what gorgeous color!

  13. What a gorgeous photo. The beautiful greens of the valley floor have browned, but our trees have yet to acknowledge the change of seasons and are clinging to their leaves. While spring is my favorite time of year, fall comes in a close second. Have a wonderful weekend, Bonnie. Blessings...Mary

  14. I am so thankful for fall. I have always loved it, but I especially appreciate it now that I live in the south. It goes from horribly hot to beautiful in a week, but it's not nearly as colorful as it is in other parts of the country. Thanks for the picture of the pretty leaves! Melinda

  16. I love fall too but, holy cow, it's been cold lately! It seems like it was a summer/fall smack-down. I don't like what the Farmers' Almanac is saying about winter in the Midwest either :(

Hopefully, we've still get some Indian Summer weather to enjoy the colors.

    Happy Fall, Bonnie!

  19. I love the Eliot verse! Not quite chilly here in S.C. yet. I am 'pea-green with envy' over your burning bushes. I planted about 9 three years ago and the deer ate them. Yours are truly gorgeous bushes!
