Snow and Sugar Cookies

We are having a beautiful snow.
I'd be enjoying it more if it weren't, maybe, messing up plans.
Plans to drive down to Purdue University
before dawn tomorrow morning.
Our dear DIL is receiving her PhD.

To keep from idly pacing the floor,
I'm baking.
Actually, both The Baker and I are baking.
Well, right now The Baker is shoveling snow.
I'm not shoveling snow.

I baked sugar cookies
for some special little friends.

If there is one of you without a sugar cookie recipe,
let me know and I'll give you mine.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

  3. I'm always looking for great cookie recipes! I especially need one that doesn't puff up so that words imprinted on the cookies can be read??? Do you think yours will work? It's snowing here too-enjoy:@)

  4. Baking is the 'thing' to do this time of year. I'm sure your home smells GREAT.....

Be careful if you head out in that bad weather today... We only have RAIN here.. Seems llike that is all we have been getting lately.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  5. It has stopped snowing here ... hopefully you'll be good to go tomorrow for the great event. Your house must smell so Christmassy.

  10. Every time I have made sugar cookies there is the aftertaste in my mouth of flour. I don't think I have ever made a sugar cookie I really like, so I would love to see your recipe. I usually end up making shortbread and cut them in shapes.

  11. Oh yes the snow interfered with lots of plans…thankfully it stopped a couple of hours before our Christmas open house. I would rather bake cookies than shovel snow any day or at least have one of your pretty cookies after shoveling. :)
