Moving

The time had come
and so we went. ~ Dr. Seussish

Well, not quite.  We are moving from this wonderful old house that we've called home for over twenty-five years.  Moving from a town that has been so good for us and to us.  I am happy that we haven't had to say "we'll miss you" to anyone since we're only moving about twenty miles away.  We closed on the new place--a townhouse/condo--yesterday.  We'll slowly move the kitchen items and get them put away.  So, too, the linens and clothing.  The movers come on June 10th for the big items.

Waiting for a new family to love her.

The little "secret garden" awaits a new gardener.

We'll be switching internet providers and I'm hoping it goes without a glitch!!  In the meantime, I'm going to try and keep on task and offline.  I'm already feeling tremulous just thinking about it though!!

I'll be back visiting all of you soon.

  2. Downsizing is good. I can also predict you will be shouting that it will be the last move ever. Nothing is easy, but at least you don't have far to go. Enjoy the changes. My best to you.

  9. Best of luck with your move, Bonnie! Moving close by will make it easier, I hope.
I lived in my Brooklyn house 36 years before we moved cross country to the Denver area. It was such a big and exhausting job, but also exciting. I know we will have one more move ahead if us one day in the future, as we will downsize into something smaller and easier to manage, but this has been a fun adventure. I hope your new home will also bring you much enjoyment!

  14. Your house is so beautiful, and you have lived there so long! I am sad if you are sad, and happy if you are happy. Maybe you are both. Why the move? Did it just get too much? I guess you have not sold it yet?

  15. A big change for you … your house is so pretty, but as you say, time for another family to grow there and love it. I'm sure your cleaning out and downsizing--hope it all goes well and you can do it slowly.

  18. I can only imagine how hard it must be for you, to say goodbye to a house that's been a home for you for over 25 years. It's not easy to say goodbye to a home you've grown accustomed to, but the bright side is you get to say hello to a new one filled with new adventures. I can only hope the move hasn't been much of a task for the whole family. Thanks for sharing and all the best to you! :)
